Unannounced Thematic Visits by the NPM to the Kranj Expert Centre

On 25 and 26 February 2026, two members of the NPM paid unannounced visits to four residential groups operating within the Kranj Expert Centre. The visits were thematic and aimed to check how the right of children to be heard was being implemented within the groups.

During the visits, the NPM members spoke with the children and staff, and found that the children's opinions, suggestions and complaints about living in the group, activities and other circumstances relating to their treatment in the group or professional centre were being heard, and that they were also receiving appropriate feedback from staff in this regard. A report on the visits will first be sent to the centre visited and, after receiving its response, also to the Ministry of Education.
