Secretariat-General

Pursuant to Article 13 of the Rules of Procedure of the Ombudsman, the Secretariat performs organisational, legal, administrative, material, financial, human resources, public relations, head office, administrative, technical, information and other tasks necessary for the functioning of the Ombudsman. 

The Secretary-General has the rights and duties of the head of a public authority under the law with regard to the management of the Ombudsman's service and in the field of employment relations, unless the Ombudsman is expressly granted this power by the Ombudsman Act (ZVarCP-B) or the Ombudsman's acts. He/she is the authorising officer for the use of funds for the work of the Ombudsman. He is accountable to the Ombudsman for his work.
