The Ombudsman met with five people in the Municipality of Grad who needed his help
Representatives of the institution of the Human Rights Ombudsman of the Republic of Slovenia (Ombudsman) were available to the citizens of the Municipality of Grad and all other residents of Prekmurje today, 15 May 2025. They met with five people who assessed that the Ombudsman could help them exercise their rights and who registered for an interview.
Deputy Ombudsman Ivan Šelih, who temporarily heads
the Ombudsman institution, opened the 114th Ombudsman's Corner on this
occasion, and in a press statement he outlined the course and key
highlights of the outreach event on this occasion. He said that the
problems encountered during this visit were no different from the
problems the Ombudsman institution experiences in other municipalities
across Slovenia, when it holds outreach events once a month in order to
get closer to residents.
On this occasion, Deputy Ombudsman
Šelih also met with the Mayor of the Municipality of Grad, Cvetka Ficko,
who outlined the Municipality's concern for vulnerable groups. They
also talked about free legal aid for citizens and the accessibility of
the building and municipal authorities to citizens.
