The Ombudsman’s institution is also a member of the Council for Dementia Management

The Ombudsman of the Republic of Slovenia became a member of the Council for Dementia Management, which was established yesterday at the Office of the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor. The Ombudsman’s institution, in which the first dementia-friendly point was set up in 2017, was represented at the meeting by Dr Jože Ruparčič, Deputy Ombudsman, due to the absence of the Ombudsman on a business trip abroad.

Experts on dementia will, among other things, develop a new strategy for dementia management, as the previous one was in force until 2020. As announced by the Office of the President of the Republic of Slovenia, its members will formulate common positions and recommendations aimed at influencing decision-makers and raising public awareness about the growing problem of dementia. President Pahor founded the Council for Dementia Management based on the initiative put forward by Spominčica, the Slovenian association for assistance to patients with dementia.
