Call for proposals for possible candidates for Ombudsman published
On 28 August 2024, the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Nataša Pirc Musar, signed a call for proposals for possible candidates for Ombudsman, which was published in the Official Gazette today, 29 August 2024.
On 30 July 2024, the Ombudsman informed the President of the Republic that his mandate will expire on 23 February 2025. On this basis, a call for proposals of possible candidates for the position of human rights ombudsman is published.
The proposals of potential candidates for the position of human rights ombudsman must be explained, in particular the written consent of the potential candidate confirming that they are ready to accept the candidacy must be attached, as well as proof of citizenship of the Republic of Slovenia.
The human rights ombudsman will be elected for a period of six years and may be re-elected after the end of the term.
Those interested can send proposals of possible candidates for the Ombudsman to the Office of the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Erjavčeva 17, Ljubljana, or by e-mail to the address gp.uprs@up-rs.si, by Monday, 14 October 2024, by 3.00 pm.
