The Human Rights Ombudsman has prepared a series of short informative videos aimed at students who want to better understand their rights during their studies. The videos are divided into four content areas:
- rights regarding residence and scholarships
- rights of student parents
- rights in healthcare
- rights in the labour market
In this way, the Ombudsman wishes to draw attention to the importance of knowing the rights that come with student status. This provides numerous special rights and benefits that can significantly affect the quality of young people's study, family, and personal lives. Knowing one's rights is also the foundation for equal and confident action in society. Young people who understand their rights and obligations can more easily assert their interests, integrate more effectively into the educational, working and social environment, and contribute to the respect for human rights in the wider, community.
We notice that students are often insufficiently informed about their rights, so the goal of the videos is to provide key information in a simple and understandable way and encourage them to contact the right institutions or obtain appropriate information in the event of problems or questions.
With the aim of making the aforementioned content and information about the videos as widely available as possible, the Ombudsman also informed more than 150 student and youth organisations, career centres, and other institutions that bring together young people or deal with the field of youth policy.
You are invited to watch the videos on the Human Rights Ombudsman's YouTube channel or by clicking on the individual link above.
