Leadership

The Ombudsman is elected by the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia by a two-thirds majority on the proposal of the President of the Republic. In accordance with the Human Rights Ombudsman Act, the Ombudsman's term of office is six years, with the possibility of re-election for a maximum of one further term. The Ombudsman may have a minimum of two and a maximum of four deputies, who are appointed by the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia, also for a term of six years, on the Ombudsman's proposal.
