Soočimo se z diskriminacijo !

Za vodenje projekta je zadolžen direktor BIM, prof. Hannes Tretter. Prof. Tretter poučuje človekove pravice na Pravni fakulteti Univerze na Dunaju in predseduje upravnemu odboru avstrijske enote EUMC (European Monitoring Centre on Racism and Xenophobia). Hkrati je član ene od komisij avstrijskih posvetovalnih teles za človekove pravice. V vlogi projektnega vodje twinning projektov g.Tretter prispeva svoje obsežne izkušnje, saj je dolga leta intenzivno proučeval institucionalne in stvarne vidike evropske antidiskriminacijske zakonodaje.
Na povabilo avstrijskega inštituta East and Southeast v Ljubljani je imel g. Tretter 17. decembra 2001 v slovenskem parlamentu obsežno predavanje za člane parlamenta ter za strokovnjake iz ministrstev in univerze na temo “antidiskriminacijske direktive EU in njihova implementacija v notranjih zakonodajah”. G. Tretter je predstavil osnovne ideje, elemente ter razvoj antidiskriminacijskega prava in podal pregled ustreznih mednarodnih ter evropskih določb o človekovih pravicah, nato pa je podrobneje obravnaval določbe direktiv EU in izzive glede njihove implementacije v nacionalnih zakonodajah. Poleg tega je takrat obravnaval in diskutiral o dobrih modelih in praksah implementacije v Angliji, na Irskem, Nizozemskem in Švedskem, ter tudi razvoj v Nemčiji in Avstriji.

The MS Project Leadership is to be carried out by the Director of the BIM, Prof. Hannes Tretter. Prof Tretter teaches human rights at the Faculty of Law of the University of Vienna. Furthermore, Mr. Tretter chairs the Steering Committee of the Austrian EUMC Focal Point and is member of one of the Commissions of the Austrian Human Rights Advisory Body. Mr. Tretter brings in extensive experience as Project Leader of Twinning Projects and has worked intensively on institutional and substantial aspects of European anti-discrimination legislation.
On 17th December 2001, upon invitation of the Austrian East and Southeast Institute in Ljubljana, Mr. Tretter held a comprehensive lecture in the Slovenian Parliament in Ljubljana for Members of Parliament and experts from Ministries and the University on “The EU Anti-discrimination Directives and their implementation in national laws”. Mr. Tretter dealt with the fundamental ideas and elements and the development of anti-discrimination law and gave an overview on the relevant international and European human rights provisions before going into detail of the provisions of the EU Directives and the challenges of their implementation in national law. Additionally, good models and practices of implementation in England, Ireland, the Netherlands and Sweden as well as developments in Germany and Austria at that time were explained and discussed.
