On the occasion of the World Day of the Sick the Human Rights Ombudsman points out that an integrated analysis and assessment of health care need to be performed, and on the basis thereof appropriate changes for its legal regulation prepared.
Equal approach to health care services and their quality should be among the main goals of the health care organization, as well as the establishment of relations of trust between the patients and medical professionals.
Recently adopted Patient Rights Act confirms that regulations cannot be prepared any longer only by a narrow circle of experts and public officials, which is why the Ombudsman once again emphasizes the necessity of cooperation of the interested public, especially non-governmental organizations, in preparation of the regulations that would ensure the realisation of the right to health in different ways. Here, of course, are very important the rights of patients, as well as the rights of all who in any way participate in the implementation of health care services.
