Ombudsman visits Minister Erjavec and Slovenian Armed Forces

On 11 February 2008, the Human Rights Ombudsman Dr Zdenka Čebašek-Travnik with her co-workers met Minister of Defence, Karl Erjavec, at his invitation in the Franc Rozman-Stane Barracks. Chief of General Staff of the Slovenian Armed Forces, Albin Gutman, also attended the meeting.

The Ombudsman got acquainted with the structure and work of the Slovenian Armed Forces and their inclusion into the Ministry of Defence.

She was especially interested in the areas, from which the most initiatives by the Slovenian Armed Forces employees are coming to the Ombudsman's office, i.e. labour law relations, mobbing, sexual harassment and discrimination.

On this occasion, the Ombudsman also spoke with the soldiers without the leadership being present.

More on the meeting and the statements for the media on the Ministry of Defence website.
