Institutional matters

The Parliament has 28 July 2000 introduced a change in the Act concerning the Storting`s Ombudsman for Public Administration which makes, as the main rule, the Ombudsman&#8217;s documents publicly available upon request. The Ombudsman decides whether there are sufficient grounds for denying access to the documents. The Parliament has set 1 January 2001 as the date of entry into force.

  • 15-17 September, Ombudsman Arne Fliflet and several members of his staff participated in a meeting for Nordic Ombudsmen in Denmark
  • 21-23 September, Legal Adviser Sten Foyn attended a network meeting for the national liaison officers arranged by the European Ombudsman in Strasbourg.
  • 26 September, Ombudsman Arne Fliflet and a member of staff participated in a seminar on Good Law-making arranged by the Council for the Baltic Sea States in Latvia.
  • 30 September, Ombudsman Arne Fliflet participated in a meeting for the West-Nordic Ombudsmen in the Faeroe Islands.
