Ombudsman Claims Reforms Are Based on Faith Instead of Arguments

Human Rights Ombudsman Matjaz Hanzek has criticised the government-sponsored reforms, saying that their presentation is based on blind faith rather than arguments.
According to Hanzek, reform advocates say something to the tune of "I am right and those who do not believe me are either morons or uneducated or old or are fighting for special interests".

Such presentation will defeat even the best reforms, as such statements put off everybody with a desire to analyse them, Hanzek told the press on Tuesday.

Hanzek, however, also opposes the reforms themselves. "I think that the measures will not fulfil their declared purpose, which is to increase competitiveness, but are more geared towards redistributing power and wealth," he added.
