The press conference
The press conference on the execution of the citizen' right to the social welfare was organized on August 31, 1999 at the Ombudsman's Office. Ombudsman presented the last activities on the issues of social welfare and social security on the base of the complaints received from citizens;
The field visits of Ombudsman
Individuals, families and representatives from four towns in south-east of Poland have contacted the officers from the Commissioner's Office on their problems totalling to over 500 cases between September 8 - 9, 1999. Records were taken and registered at the Office, and a number of the cases is now under examination. Interviews were taken in each of the towns by five-member teams of officers representing various areas of law, and personal interviews were also made by the Commissioner for Civil Rights Protection.
