As part of the implementation of the tasks and powers of the National Preventive Mechanism (NPM), the Ombudsman of the Republic of Slovenia (Ombudsman) monitored the removal of three foreigners from the Centre for Foreigners in Postojna to Jože Pučnik Airport in Ljubljana on 15 and 16 July 2020.

The removal of the foreigners was monitored by the Ombudsman’s advisers Robert Gačnik, spec., and Ana Polutnik. To ensure external independent monitoring of police activities, including the formulation of recommendations, a report will be drawn up on the monitoring of these activities during the removal of foreigners and sent to the Ministry of the Interior for consideration.
