The Ombudsman informs the public through regular press conferences and forwards her findings after discussions with the initiators outside the seat at local press conferences; she talks about her findings in interviews, specialized programmes in media, etc.
The office of Ombudsman is also publishing a free newsletter entitled »The Ombudsman – How to Protect Your Rights«, and special reports of the Ombudsman on specific issues that occur during its work.
The Ombudsman is obliged by law to write an annual report every year and present it to the National Assembly and its relevant body, the Commission for Petitions, Human Rights and Equal Opportunities. The Ombudsman submits annual reports also to the President of the Republic, the Government, and the National Council.
The Ombudsman does not inform the public only through communications or press conferences. Certain information on the work of the Human Rights Ombudsman is published only on the website, while Electronic Newsletter is a service which POINTS to new contents. In this way you receive information not only on the findings of this institution regarding the state of human rights in Slovenia, but also on projects, tenders, operation outside the seat, visits or supervision of various institutions, international contacts of the Ombudsman, the rights of different target groups, eventual new materials – briefly, all forms of work of the Human Rights Ombudsman.
Electronic Newsletter helps you save time and avoid clicking on the Ombudsman’s website www.varuh-rs.si.
